She has been active in the NGO world, with the focus on human rights, non-formal education and social entrepreneurship. She has Master of Arts degree from Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts (SADA) and a post-master degree in Critical Images from The Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm. She is currently teaching documentary film at and HDK-Valand Academy of Art and Design, University of Gothenburg and is a guest lecturer at Ölands Folkhögskola. Her artistic short film “Re-membering: Meditation on a Triptych”, has been shortlisted for the most prestigious film award in Sweden, Guldbaggen.

Dr. Sana Hećo is a medical doctor, naturopath, raw food chef and writer. Love of food and pursuit of knowledge about health and sustainable living have been the driving forces behind her personal and professional endeavours. Orient Expressed is her first book both as a writer and publisher. Eleuthromania is her second project. It is a collection of postcards with thoughts and poems written to remind, educate and inspire on the topic of democracy and human rights in the wake of the first live-streamed genocide in our human history. She is currently working on a new book, attempting to give a fresh approach to understanding Sevdah, Bosnian traditional sung poetry.
